Ximphonic Versus: Nocturnes Romance (originally published in 1996) is a graphic novel created by Scotlynd Xing Xin-Bedford. It?s also an upcoming American Anime TV series produced by PHANTOM BLADE PRODUCTIONS LLC. The company also serves as the worldwide distributor for the TV show based on the thrilling fantasy graphic novel series. Ximphonic Versus: Nocturnes Romance is published by Phantom Blade Productions LLC. Xing serves as an executive producer and lead writer, and lead concept artist on the TV show.
The series is distinguished by its detailed art and presentation, accompanied by an original soundtrack composed by
Michael Roberts. Ximphonic Versus Consequence 1 full release was published in May 2012, with Consequences 2-8 between 2015-2017. Books 9-12 released through out, 2020. Books 14, 15 and 16 are now available, and book 17 prelude is set to release this December 17th 2025, with books 18-21 currently in production. Xing has stated that the full graphic novel series comprises 930 chapters.
Ximphonic Versus focuses on themes of sadness and tragedy, as It pits these characters against impossible odds, seeking to endure and overcome the hardships ahead of them. The story moreover heavily focuses on the theme of "Human Emotions Set In A Fantasy World." A cross-section of fantasy and reality. And the idea of a "Divine Charge'' imposing itself on select individuals is also a major theme of the series. The characters lead interesting lives, plagued by the everyday things we all can attest to and understand. The complexity of the story comes from their relationships and personal lives. It also explores how they deal with situations pertaining to Love, Heartbreak, Forgiveness, and Evil. The TV show is set with 26 episodes for season one, with world-renowned composers Two Steps From Hell providing the music for the series trailer. Ximphonic Versus is also written to help people who suffer from PTSD, Depression and Anxiety. The series has even been endorsed by a professional licensed psychologist, Dr. Jo Angela Johnston.

The upcoming American Anime TV series produced by the Phantom Blade Productions LLC, is coming to streaming. The official trailer storyboarding was produced in Japan and by late 2022 they were completed, as of August 2024 additional storyboarding scenes are being added. The trailer is written and directed by series creator Xing Xin. The storyboarding is a collaborative effort between US based Phantom Blade Productions and former artist at Square EniX who worked on FINAL FANTASY, led by master artist ??.

After 30 plus years of working on his series Xing began seeking a publisher to print and distribute the graphic novel, the series was met with harsh criticism and was rejected 200 times by publishers and even Diamond Distribution. Determined to get his work out, Xing launched his own label Phantom Blade Productions LLC. As of November 2025, the graphic novel has sold 12,130 physical copies. Phantom Blade Productions LLC has partnered with PHILBO DISTRIBUTION to bring the series to the direct market and has built good working relationships with a growing number of Local Comic Shops. The series features mighty warriors and foes engaged in epic battles for cosmic power and celestial forces. Characters like Addonnis Neos Latrunculus: Crowned prince of the Noctium Imerium, the largest and most powerful of the ancient kingdoms. Addonnis is the son of Emperor Ensiculus Creperum Latrunculus. As the heir apparent to the throne, he is the last in a venerated bloodline divinely charged with protecting the Symphonic-Swords Of Eon. For the swords are sentient, and they choose who is worthy to wield their power, these weapons are not passed to each king in the blood line, they must be granted to the wielder. Thus they can only be summoned and wielded by someone with Divine and Noble Latrunculus blood.
It?s Addonnis ? Divine Phantom Power ? that allows him to call upon these powerful weapons. They are brought from the realm of ?Luculenus Regnum et Excessu? or ?The Beautiful Kingdom Of The Dead?. Having gained his divine powers from Vero a deity with Death, Beauty and Agony blessed upon her lips. She bestowed upon him her power during his near death experience at his birth.
While Sappheiros Soir-Florentissima: is a princess of the Glass Kingdom, She is originally from the noble Haus Nox-Eros. Her parents ruled the El?cion Kingdom Of Golden Meadow?fall. Her father was King Eldan Noroan Florentissima and her mother was Queen Lacrima Jade Valintia-Florentissima. They were killed and her family's Kingdom was destroyed when she was just an infant. To this day no one truly knows who was responsible. After that she was taken to the Glass Kingdom and raised under the watchful eye of her Aunt and Uncle, the Rulers of the Glass Kingdom.
She, like Addonnis, shares his rare ability to behold ? Celestial Light ? although her power works in a slightly different way from his. Sappheiros is a El?cion Necromancer, she can behold the ?Celestial Dragons Light '' with her eyes. The universes cosmic powers flows through Sappheiros, and it is tied to the Phenomenal Aspect of the Celestial powers from the Dragons, much like Addonnis. Plot:
Ximphonic Versus centers on Crowned Prince Addonnis Neos Latrunculus, the Heir Apparent To The Divine Throne Of Noctium Imperium. He is the last of a noble and venerated bloodline, divinely charged with protecting the Swords of Eon. As old hates fueled by generation-long conflicts have led to a Sanctum Victorian War lasting 800 years. The war efforts have been relentlessly driven by the vastly superior aristocratic war nation of the Countith?alyian Dynasty. On the eve of a historic day, a peace treaty signing is set in the Glass Kingdom to finally bring this war to a close. After recently having buried his beloved wife prince Addonnis and his mentor Concerto set out to witness this event. As he is blissfully unaware of the tragedy that is to come. It is here Addonnis meets the aristocratic maiden of Glass, Princess Sappheiros Soir-Florentissima. Addonnis learns that the mysterious and beautiful Sappheiros shares his rare power to behold ?Celestial Light?. And discovers from her that there is a prophecy about the Last True King, and how this one would have the power to bring the dead back to life. During the night's festivities, Addonnis is abruptly called away by the stewards of his Kingdom, with news of great import and secrecy. Soundtrack:
A stunningly beautiful soundtrack was composed by Michael Roberts, and it consist of 24 original songs. All inspired and based on the graphic novel series.
Action Figure Line:
An action figure line is in production at Phantom Blade Productions LLC, with wave 1 having 4 figures. Addonnis, Sappheiros, Concerto, and a Shadow Knight swordsman, the first prototypes are now complete. Four more figures will be unveiled between 2026 and 2027. The figures are 1/6th scale or 12"s and come highly detailed with weapons from both the animated TV show and graphic novel. The toys will be sold worldwide and Xing plans on making vehicles and playsets to go along with the line as well. Designs for wave 3 and 4 are already in development.
